Where and when can I see the Emerald Thieves play?
All Emerald Thieves gigs are listed on the website under 'Availabilty'; although with many bookings being private functions and weddings they are not open to the general public. It is due to this fact the band endeavours to play 1 to 2 showcase gigs every month in pubs and music venues throughout the North East area. These showcase gigs are dual-purpose; giving everyone the opportunity to see Emerald Thieves play for free at the same time as allowing the band to try out new material in a relaxed atmosphere....an ideal opportunity for future wedding couples to sneak a peak!
What music do you play?
It depends on the occasion and venue really. A selection of Emerald Thieves covers is listed under 'celtic & fiddle songs' and 'rock & pop songs' at the top of the Emerald Thieves page on this site. The band are well-known for interacting with the audience; often allowing them to pick their own set at showcase gigs!! Get yourself along, put in your request and if you hang on until the end the band will play a final set of requested tracks picked out at random from the hat. How good is that?
How much do Emerald Thieves charge?
We pride ourselves on being up-front about our fees. Our prices haven't increased since 2009 and we will now be maintaining these prices once again throughout 2012.
There are three price bands; A, B and C, based on the occasion, the venue and the size of the show. These prices are all-inclusive for local gigs only and although we fequently travel throughout the UK and abroad a distance surcharge applies to such bookings.
PRICE A - Weddings, corporate functions, Xmas parties – £950
The full show.
100 minutes of quality live music played between 7pm and midnight and chosen from our playlist by you.
Emerald Thieves will also arrange and perform live your choice of ‘first dance’.
Large scale 6,000 watt sound system and LED lighting.
Use of disco lights and the band sound system to play your iPod music - free until midnight.
(£120 per additional hour or part thereof)
Or.....
Maddison, professional DJ to accompany the band - £250 until midnight

PRICE B - Clubs, small private parties - £650
2x 45 minute regular club sets played between 7.30pm and 11.30pm. Celtic & Irish selection plus Rock & Pop.
Medium scale 4,000 watt PA system and lights.
Late licences can be catered for
PRICE C - Showcase gigs - £400
1x 30 minute acoustic Celtic & Irish set
1x 30 minute rock & pop set
Small scale 1000 watt PA system
N.B – showcases are scaled-down sessions suitable for small pubs only.
Pricing Policy Agreement, Payment and Discounts
We do not have any hidden costs; our local wedding and corporate event prices are all clearly stated. We can also offer discounts on 'all-day' music packages. Please contact us for further information.
Prices quoted will cover events and functions in the North East area of England; including NE, DH, DL, SR and TS postcodes - immediate surrounding areas may also be included within reason.
We do of course perform across the entire UK, however a distance surcharge will apply. This charge will be relative to the location of your venue.
An advance cash deposit will be required to secure a booking; this deposit would non-refundable. The remaining payment should be made in full at least two weeks prior to your event.
Cancellation Notice
Due to the nature of our work, the vast majority of our bookings are agreed months, sometimes years in advance. Emerald Entertainment are registered members of the Musicians Trade Union and adhere strictly to their guidelines regarding compensation for cancelled bookings. All bookings agreed whether by written or verbal contract are legally binding. Under UK law a signature is NOT required to confirm a contract with any band, a verbal arrangement will suffice. Once any booking is agreed sufficient notice of cancellation must then be given to the act to avoid full or part payment of the bands fee. The cancellation fee will reflect the likelihood of the band procuring a replacement booking at the notice given.
Cancellation Fees
30 days or less - 100% fee
30 to 60 days - 75% fee
60 to 90 days - 50% fee
Equipment and Certification
All of our live bands and ensembles are fully self-contained, providing professional lighting and sound systems perfectly suited to each individual event.
All electrical equipment is annually tested (PAT) and each band also carries adequate public liability insurance to meet the safety requirements of hotel and entertainment venues alike.
